Why oh why do people hang their tennis shoes on power lines ??? whats up with that???

It marks gang territory. Those shoes symbolize victims of gang violence, because they usually take away their shoes first because it's hard to run away without them. And they throw it up (I don't know how, I think it's amazing) to send a message not to mess with them.

It used to be people would get jumped beat up and then they would take there shoes and throw them up there now i think that people just do it for fun.
Reply:Some track teams have been known to do it with trees like at the University of Minnesota. But often it is an older kid bullying another kid. Where are you gonna throw his shoes so he can never get them back...
