You can get them at finish line. I got these really cute canvis tennis shoes from there and at a good price. I got the shoes from Mark Ecko. JoJo advertises for them. They are really cute!

So I took my best pair of NIKEs to Sea World and now they smell like a sewer. They are white and gray but I'm afraid to use bleach or even put them in the washer machine...

It should be ok to throw them in the washer with a little bit of bleach. I usually pour some shout in with the bleach though. Wash like you would a regular load of laundry but DON'T dry them in the dryer!! It may take a few days to dry in the house or hang them outside. Good Luck on that!!

Let them dry in the sunshine, sunshine is the best for removing bad smells. When dry, put a new dryer sheet in each shoe until you get ready to wear them again.

i do not know about rebocks but i do all my shoes with clorox, clorox makes all stuff clean. just do whites in one load and colors in another load. do not mix colors and whites together

What's the best way to clean muddy tennis shoes?
I was wearing my favorite Nike Air Max %26amp; fell into a mud hole up to my ankles. I want to get them cleaned up as good as possible. They are caked in mud. Is it better to wash the while they are still wet or let the dry then pound them together then wash or another solution.

Okay I have learned not to wash my shoes in the washer it breaks them down. Do not use bleach on them it also will break them down and eat thru the leather (if they are leather of course). also eats plastic. this is what I do I let the mud dry then I get off as much of the dried dirtas possible. I take an old tooth brush, tooth paste that has whitening in it and a rag. I wet the rag and the tooth brush put the tooth paste on the brush and scrub the shoe it can be time consuming but it really works and your shoes will look whiter than the day you bought them, also will smell great. LOL .I use the wet rag to wipe off the extra tooth paste. I didn't believe it when I was told. My daughter is in Marching band and they are not aloud to wash there shoes in the washer because of it breaking the shoes down. And this is what they told us parents to do. It really does work try it.

but never ever put them in the dryer they will shrink, i always put my on top of the dryer to dry or a heater vent,,works great

Id use warm or hot for washing...
if they have fabric areas with mud not only leather try a stain stick on those or rub laundry soap on those areas before tossing washer.

What are the 'pump up tounges' for in tennis shoes?
the Pump system offers a custom fit while protecting the heel, the ankle and the collar area of the foot. Different models of the shoe had different Pump systems, which was integrated into the tongue of the shoe. The lining of the shoe contains a bladder which houses the air chambers which inflate making them like air bags for the feet. With all that pumping you’ll also need a way to release the pressure so there’s a little valve to let air out of the chambers!

Hey TopSpin, it really depends on what kind of foot you have. With that in mind I'll include a link to a similar question that was asked. You'll be able to find my answer and that might help a bit. But when it all comes down to it, the best shoes are the ones that you feel the best in. I play a lot and at one point I was going through a pair of shoes every month or two. I decided to give Wilson shoes a whirl because they have guarantees on most of their shoes. I wasn't a big fan because they were too heavy for my taste. For my foot I really like Nike--and especially their Air Zooms. I don't know if you remember the old Sampras shoes, but those were the greatest. It was like playing in my socks.
If you want shoes that aren't too expensive, then you can find good shoes in the Nike, Adidas and Wilson lines that aren't too pricey--and they all have shoes with guarantees, although the Nikes and Adidas with guarantees are a bit pricier.
Here's an alternative that I use: I buy two pair of shoes. I buy a really nice pair and then I keep my eyes open for sales or a good less expensive, more durable pair. I then switch them off. I usually go to Tennis Warehouse and look for shoes on liquidation. Here's an example for you:
I'd get a pair of the older Air Resolve (on liquidation; I'll add the link below) for $60 and then I'd keep my eyes open for other good deals on the liquidation list (you could also check out sites like Holibird Sports; I'll include a link to their close-out page). I have a pair of these Resolves. They've got a six-month guarantee on the outsole and they're pretty comfortable. Plus they've got a solid toe--you mentioned toe-dragging.
Good luck. I know how hard it is to find a shoe that fits well.

I'm thinking about changing to a pair of adidas barricades though. some of teh newer ones on tennis-warehouse for a warantee for wearing the sole. they may be more expensive, but i think they'll last longer, plus with that warantee, why not give it a shot.

They both look good and feel good if you have an arch or if you are a flat-foot person. Since you like to do a toe drag i recommend the Babolat Team All Court over the K-Swiss Ascendor SLT. If you are looking for comfort over build i would go for the K-Swiss Ascendor SLT. Hope i helped.

A word of warning, any of these can discolor or damage your sneakers. Try a small area first to test for colorfast first.

What's the best way to wash tennis shoes in the washing machine?
Should I put them in some type of mesh bag or not? Hot, warm or cold water? Gentle or normal cycle? Please be as specific as you can.

I do ours loose in the washer in warm water on the normal setting with a set of white sheets or towels with a little bleach to disinfect them then air dry them. I only put in at most 3 pairs at a time. I've washed every kind from Nike,Etnes and Converse and have had great results!I wash them with the white because we only buy predominatly white sneakers.

How do I clean my white canvas tennis shoes? they have little mickey mouse's on the side that are colored.
Most of the time i've done bleach and detergent in the washer, but detergent turns them yellow and obviously I can't use bleach because of the mouse sewn on them. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Try spraying stain remover on everything but mickey mouse and put in the wash with nappy soaker instead of detergent and see how that works. :)

Let wet and muddy shoes dry before cleaning them. Take shoes outside and beat them together or against a hard surface to remove caked on mud and dirt.

Take the shoe laces out of the shoes. Put the laces inside a long tube sock and tie a knot in the top of the sock. Wash and dry the laces with like colors.
Step3
Wet the shoes with cool water. Apply a mild soap to a soft scrubbing brush. Scrub both the inside and outside of the shoes with the brush. Apply more soap as needed.
Step4
Wash the soap off of the shoes with clean cool water. Scrub stubborn stains with additional soap. Rinse all soap out of the shoes.
Step5
Dump excess water out of the shoes. Blot the shoes dry with a clean white towel. Crinkle heavy duty paper towels into balls. Stuff the paper towels into the shoes to absorb water.
Step6
Set the shoes on a surface where they can dry at room temperature. Remove the wet paper towels from the shoes after an hour. Replace them with dry paper towels. Change out the paper towels frequently until all of the excess moisture is absorbed.
Step7
Replace the laces in the tennis shoes. Purchase new laces when the old laces do not come as clean as the shoes.

To dry, put them in front of the fridge and let the warm air that your fridge generates dry them. This keeps the shoes from loosing their shape and getting the designs rubbed off from the washing machine.
This also works great for hats.

I usually do this when it is warm enough for them to dry outside or in the sun. They can dry by a heat register also. I find if you put them in a washing machine or dryer they bang around so much and it is hard on your machine. Hope this helps.

Just go to any of the shopping centers and they will be there. Trouble is, they are knockoffs and won’t hold up anywhere near as long as the real thing. Another problem is they will loose their stability in a very short time possibly leading to an injury. Need I say more? Don’t buy them unless you plan to just ware them around town.

as for exercising (running, mainly) i also use saucony--but the real running shoes. the grid stabils are pretty solid.
if you suffer from peroneal tendonitis (that's the tendon that runs down the outside of your calf and hooks around the bottom of your ankle bone) definitely avoid new balance shoes. the back is too high on virtually all of them--it hits that tendon and makes the problem worse.

How do I get white canvis tennis shoes white again?
I have tried washing them in bleach and it seems to leave a yellow color. Am I using too much, too little, or should I not be using bleach at all?

Believe it or not there is a cleaner for white canvas shoes. I've seen it in the shoe section in Wal-Mart %26amp; in most shoe stores. Have used it in the past %26amp; my shoes turned out blindingly white!

Reply:Sounds like too much bleach. Are you following the directions on the bottle? I think you are supposed to dilute with water.

Reply:ur using too much bleach...fill ur washer with hot water first then add about 1/3 cup of bleach n oxyclean....dont dry them in the dryer..let them air dry

Call a cobbler. It's probably cheaper just to buy a new pair though.

I know that somewhere out there, somebrand had created a shoe with a replaceable sole. That's the best I can d, however. Other than that, it is best to just buy a new pair.
Reply:Definitely buy a new pair. Do not get attached to tennis shoes because we wear them out too often. Starting and stopping suddenly really chews up soles.
Getting attached to a certain brand and model is perfectly acceptable, however.
