How do I get white canvis tennis shoes white again?

I have tried washing them in bleach and it seems to leave a yellow color. Am I using too much, too little, or should I not be using bleach at all?

Believe it or not there is a cleaner for white canvas shoes. I've seen it in the shoe section in Wal-Mart %26amp; in most shoe stores. Have used it in the past %26amp; my shoes turned out blindingly white!

Reply:Sounds like too much bleach. Are you following the directions on the bottle? I think you are supposed to dilute with water.

Reply:after the shoes are cleaned(use clorox 2)and dry, try white shoe polish and let the dry.
Reply:ur using too much bleach...fill ur washer with hot water first then add about 1/3 cup of bleach n oxyclean....dont dry them in the dryer..let them air dry
