Can I wash my tennis shoes in the washing machine...Will I reck them?

I've done it many times and it works great! You'll be amazed. I usually throw mine in with a load of towels so I don't have to listen to them bang around in there. Air dry them though, don't put them in the clothes dryer.

yes, gentle cycle, it can make them like new.
Reply:i put mine in a pillow case ..they come clean and they don't bounce around and make sooo much noise in the dryer:)
Reply:No, it won't wreck them. With my white shoes, however I use the liquid dishwasher soap on them with an old toothbrush first. It gets all the black marks off and they look like brand new. It also will not hurt them to go in the dryer. I do mine at least once a month with no problems.
Reply:If your shoes are a reasonable size, they should wash well with a small load of towels. Use a front loading machine if at all possible because of the uneven weight, the shoes may disrupt the even spin and throw the machine off balance! Never dry them in the dryer! As a former owner of a coin laundry, I've replaced more dryer parts than I care to recall as a result of shoes banging around inside. Air drying is recommended.
Reply:it depends on what they are made from, if they are canvas then there is no problem. If they are leather - and this applies to most white leather shoes, then you can cover the black scuff marks with liquid paper [you can get it at any drug store or stationery shop, i.e. the type you use to cover typing mistakes on a page
