How should I clean my tennis shoes?

I have an all white pair of Nike Shox. Half leather, half cloth. How should I clean them? I would normally put them in the washer but I am afraid this will ruin them?

well i would throw dem in da washer but since u dont wanna do dat i'd suggest using a old toothbrush and scrub away

Reply:They sell shoe cleaner at norstroms in the shoe department that works really well you just scrub it on then rinse off your self.

Reply:you're like me i have two pair of white tennis shoes Reebok and sketchers and my Reebok's are classics but they're update i had them since last year and I always clean them with a little bleach water in the sink not to much and dish washing detergent because they have rubber treads at the bottom and that will mess them up if I put them in the washing machine it will make them look dingy and not all the way clean so I get an old toothbrush that nobody has used and scrub, and rinse them clean and wash the strings on my hand and my sketcher i do the same thing and let them dry and air out.
