Have you dont it before?
Can I just throw my tennis shoes in the washer to wash them? Or would it ruin them?
I do it all the time and have for years
just spray with pre-wash stain remover, wash with a few towels, air-dry...I put ours at the base of the refrigerator where air blows out and they dry overnight.
Reply:I've done that with canvas shoes before, with good results. In a pinch, you might even do that with the others- but I don't recommend it.
Reply:I better wash them with my hands, not put them in the washer. I don't know the shoes' quality such as the glue or the sewing, the colour, etc. Besides, who knows if the colour will become dull. I know my own's "strength" and I will use 'feeling' to wash them with hands.
Reply:I think it depends on the shoe, although I am no expert here.
I've done it before and everything has gone perfectly fine. I've also done it before and had the sole of the shoe melt to the interior of the dryer.
I think it will be fine in the washing machine, but the dryer is what I would question.
Reply:yes, however use only cold water, and put a towel
also in the washer with it.
Yes, done it several times.
Reply:It depends on what they are made from. If it`s a canvas pair go ahead toss them in the washing machine with a load of towels. If they are very soiled take a scrub brush with a little detergent and pre treat by scrubbing the heck out of them. Throw them in the dryer with the load of towels but don`t dry them all the way. Take them out about half way through the cycle and let them finish air drying. If they are leather your better off taking a soft scrubber like a dobie and using dawn dish soap, rinse with a wet clean rag and let them air dry.
