How much did a pair of tennis shoes cost in 1950?

Righto, $3-$3.50. My favorties were Keds or especially PF Flyers. I swear I could run faster in them! It was actually a bit later than 1950, more like '55 or '56. I'm old but not THAT old. Okay, I am.

I don't know about 1950, but I know that Nike shoes in 1981 cost around $25 dollars. They were THE shoes at the time, and my mom absolutely refused to buy them because she thought they were outrageously overpriced. I had to save my allowance up to buy my own.

Reply:$3.00.
Reply:Well, I was only 7 then, but everyone had tennis shoes and I think I had to earn $5.00 before my parents would consider buying me a new pair... (that wasn't easy at only 25 cents an hour...)
