What would be the best cycle to put them on?
Is it better to wash tennis shoes in the washing machine or in the dishwasher?
Dishwasher?? i think im going to try that
Reply:i jst wash them in the washer machine.. i've not heard of the dishwasher... hmmmm. But my mom did it %26amp; so have i. U may want to wash them w/ heavier clothes, rags things like that so they don't bounce around too mch. I usually use the gentle cycle. then i lay them in the sun to dry.
Reply:I usually do them in the washing machine, I hadn't thought about the dishwasher.
I usually put them on the 40c synthetics cycle
Reply:I would not put clothing in the dishwasher. I would think that shoes should not be washed in hot water. A dishwasher normally washes with 160+ degrees water. That's hot.
Also, a dishwasher is not designed for clothing, neither is dishsoap. Dishsoap is not the same as laundry soap. It wouldn't get clothes very clean. Dish soap gets dishes clean, but it is not designed to get clothes clean.
So, here's the best idea I've heard: take an old pillow case, put your shoes in it, and tie the end shut like a bread bag. Then, the shoes won't get ruined as much. Use the gentle cycle because shoes do get beat up in the washer.
I've never tried the pillowcase idea though.
Reply:Definitely the washing machine. Depending on what they're made of, you probably don't want to put them in the dryer, though. Put some shoe trees in them and leave them to dry on a windowsill or someplace with lots of sun and fresh air circulating.
Reply:I prefer the washing machine. Don't put in dryer. set them in from of the refrigerator and they Will dry overnight.
Reply:Wow I have never heard of using the dishwasher to wash shoes before...
I think the washing machine is best, but I prefer the good old handwash way.
