I don't think so. I used to do that all of the time. I would take the laces off though so they wouldn't get caught up on anything in the washer or dryer. The noise would be pretty loud though...bang...bang...bang...as the shoes would tumble in the dryer though. To keep my land lord from evicting me I would put a towel in with the shoes to dampen the noise.
Hope this helps.
Metal is metal...shoes won't hurt it any.
Good luck
Is it bad to put tennis shoes loose in the dryer for drying?
As long as they don't have any leather or similar material on them, drying them is OK. I do it all the time.
Reply:I put shoes in the sun to dry when possible.
Reply:The dryer will destroy the rubber in your tennis shoes. It will also destroy the rubber in elastic (in bras and underwear). Maybe not on the first wash, but eventually. I have found the best way to dry tennis shoes is the old fashioned way..... open them up as much as possible and place them in the sun.
You can also turn them upside down on top of a central air A/C unit. The warm air which exhaustes out of it will dry them pretty quickly without harming the rubber.
Reply:Is it bad for the dryer? No.
Is it aggravating to have to keep closing the dryer door and restarting the dryer every time the shoes knock it open? Very!
If you have a sweater rack accessory for the dryer, you should use it for your shoes also. Or...if you're not in a hurry to get the shoes dry and the weather is nice and warm, set them outside in a sunny spot for the afternoon.
Reply:put them in a pillow case. this cuts down on the noise and it will keep your shoes from tearing
Reply:sometimes the heavier ones can upset the rotating drum in the dryer. to avoid severe banging I throw them in with some towels or jeans for cushioning.
Reply:Yes, It's better to put towels in with the shoes or go to the laundromat. Sometimes your shoes shrink or the leather gets hard so i air dry my shoes when i wash them. My sons wash theirs with a tooth brush and dip the toothbrush in water detergent and bleach if they are all white and let them air dry.
