Why Kind Of Sneakers/Tennis Shoes Do Preps Wear?

What brands and style, Im talking about the abercrombie/hollister/aeropostale type prep not the I-Zod kind. Pics would be a plus. Thanks.

Why Kind Of Sneakers/Tennis Shoes Do Preps Wear?
Well it kinda depends on the environment but most of them are pretty athletic so they wear Nikes.

http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/imag...

Tennis shoes they don't ever wear the classics.
Reply:I have lots of sneakers but I usually wear my purple %26amp; orange Nike Shox. i also sometimes wear my pink and green (watermelon colors) nike tennis shoes too. Sometimes I wear my coach tennis shoes too. (you can see them at www.coach.com if you click on the shoes section!)

hope this helps. gotta go do a quick run to abercrombiee.
Reply:Pumas, or (clean) converse all stars...in a plaid pattern maybe.
Reply:I see a lot of Puma shoes that are popular with the Preps, also Nike Dunks, but I only see those mostly on guys.

Something I see a lot for the girls (because they play sports and stuff) are plain white original Adidas shoes, not the athletic kind, the originals in white or with pink or purple or something like that. I see plain and clean black or pink converse popular too, but not the beat up kinds.

Women: What type of casual shoes (other than white tennis shoes) look good on a guy?

Most anything black fits well. Recently I saw a Tara Banks special and she had the "hottest" (according to her) guys on stage. They all had black casual shoes on with jeans. Especially if you have a black leather jacket. I live in a big town, and guys with hip shoes really get a second glance from us gals.

I like Pumas on a guy.
Reply:Converse. They're totally amazing for two reasons. They're comfortable, and they can be dressed up or down. Although, Converse does target the more teens-young adults range...so depending on your age, you can decide whethere Cons. would, in fact, be appropraite.

Why do people throw tennis shoes on to the power lines?

don't know.

But there is a place in milltown, indiana ( way south) called The Shoe Tree and it is covered with thousands and thousands and thousands of shoes!!! no kidding! We've been going there for years and always throw an old pair in the tree, it's a landmark around there!

Why do people throw tennis shoes on to the power lines?
to mark where a drug house is.
Reply:it means it's a bad area and drug deals u didnt hear from me
Reply:I guess they don't know what else to do with their old shoes.
Reply:........becuz they can.
Reply:Hipi, you are partially true. It does have to do with when someone dies, but the shoes are usually the dead persons'. That is why the shoes usually come in different sizes.
Reply:I always heard it was if one gang person killed another one they throw the "offed" guys shoes over the power line as a warning or trophy.
Reply:sometimes in celebration of something
Reply:Because it's just more fun than throwing them in the garbage.
Reply:When a Military unit rotates from a base some of the members would do this w/ their boots. Then the new recruit would have to remove them. It's funny! Isn't it?
Reply:Maybe they fall from the sky.

Should I use my tennis shoes for running?

well, should i? why? =) thanks in advance!

Should I use my tennis shoes for running?
I don't have much experience with tennis shoes but from looking at a photo i can tell they are loosely relative to basketball shoes. My point is, they are excellent for smoothe surfaces but running shoes are great for unbalanced surfaces. I guess if you were jogging on a sidewalk then it wouldn't matter but it's best to use running shoes when you're out on grass/dirt rodes etc. Hope this helps and goodluck :)
Reply:No! Please, no! I used to work in an athletics store, court-based shoes (basketball, squash, tennis etc) are too inflexible, and are made for protecting ankles and feet from sideways movements - they're terrible for running! And 'cross-trainers' are a joke too! Runners or nothing (seriously, running barefoot on grass every now and then is a good idea).
Reply:You should use you're running shoes.

If you're serious abouth running I would even recomend going to a running shop with you're old running shoes and see if they are realy the right shoes for you.

Depending on you feet, bodyweight and running patern they will propose differen types of shoes.

It is realy important to have decent running shoes as the wrong shoe could lead to serious injuries.

Do you wash your tennis shoes?

Naahhh....

Do you wash your tennis shoes?
nah I just buy knew ones because I'm to fine to wear ******* up tennis shoes and by washing them will harm the look.
Reply:ya my vans
Reply:Yes, I do.

I simply just let water run over them while they're in the sink, and then I tap it and bang it to get things out, because I don't want any of that stuff on my hands. Then I use my hair blow dryer to dry them.

I never really do get my tennis shoes dirty, so I don't have to clean them a lot.
Reply:Yes its looks more clean and like new)))
Reply:Doesn't everyone wash them?
Reply:I do but some say it harms them.
Reply:don't you?
Reply:I swim with mine on when its spring or summer out, the chlorine keeps them nice and clean, and at the same time it's a good workout for my legs!
Reply:Of course! Like once a month with a little bleach and hot water. This keeps them looking new. Specially because I wear my tennis shoes to work out, so there is nothing worse than stinky shoes is there?
Reply:yes
Reply:If they get really dirty...ill wash my shoes
Reply:Yes, I wash them in the machine. Sometimes I have to scrub the soles with a toothbrush to get them clean, but the machine works well. Don't put them in the dryer though, if they are leather.

I cannot stand dirty tennis shoes, so I would rather take the chance that they might fall apart than have dirty shoes. Never had any fall apart yet and been washing them for about 10 years.
Reply:No really, washing them harms the look of shoes. What I do is that I try to keep them clean.
Reply:uhh... not normally... if you really honestly wanted them clean... i sugest washing them with like a wet parer towel %26amp; just wash the lases... thats what i do with mine... but it really depends on the material on the tennis shoes

Hope This Helped At All =]

Why are they called tennis shoes?

I just heard it around school.

Why are they called tennis shoes?
they r called tennis shoes because they were made for playing tennis in them. sneakers are more for basketball and other sports like that but tennis has its own type of shoe....but they are basically all the same thing.
Reply:cuz they help u grip the cement on the corts i should kno cuz im in tennis and it helps if ur in tennis or they r just well street shoes i dont quiet kno wat u mean but i hope i could help a lil
Reply:In your moms day they were tennis shoes

Now we have real nice shoes that have good soles and support to play tennis or run.
Reply:I dont wear tennis shoes, I wear sneakers.
Reply:shoes without a heel are tennis shoes...so a flat sole is a tennis shoe
Reply:The shoes that we call tennis shoes originally were worn by folks who played tennis, then they evolved to the specific trainers we have today.
Reply:there called tennis shoes because the actual first "sneaker" was made by k-swiss, and was made for tennis, after that they started making "sneakers" for all different purposes.
Reply:Because people wear them when they're playing tennis.
Reply:Tennis shoes or trainers is how English(UK) people call sneakers.Americans call it sneakers,in London people do refer to them as trainers or tennis shoes, sneakers is also accepted.Don't be mistaken, they are they same thing.Find an Oxford or Longman dictionary with pictures and you will find it under shoes page.Former British colonies also use the same name.

Can I wash my tennis shoes in the washing machine...Will I reck them?

I've done it many times and it works great! You'll be amazed. I usually throw mine in with a load of towels so I don't have to listen to them bang around in there. Air dry them though, don't put them in the clothes dryer.

Can I wash my tennis shoes in the washing machine...Will I reck them?
yes, gentle cycle, it can make them like new.
Reply:i put mine in a pillow case ..they come clean and they don't bounce around and make sooo much noise in the dryer:)
Reply:No, it won't wreck them. With my white shoes, however I use the liquid dishwasher soap on them with an old toothbrush first. It gets all the black marks off and they look like brand new. It also will not hurt them to go in the dryer. I do mine at least once a month with no problems.
Reply:If your shoes are a reasonable size, they should wash well with a small load of towels. Use a front loading machine if at all possible because of the uneven weight, the shoes may disrupt the even spin and throw the machine off balance! Never dry them in the dryer! As a former owner of a coin laundry, I've replaced more dryer parts than I care to recall as a result of shoes banging around inside. Air drying is recommended.
Reply:it depends on what they are made from, if they are canvas then there is no problem. If they are leather - and this applies to most white leather shoes, then you can cover the black scuff marks with liquid paper [you can get it at any drug store or stationery shop, i.e. the type you use to cover typing mistakes on a page

Should I use my tennis shoes for running?

well, should i? why? =) thanks in advance!

Should I use my tennis shoes for running?
I have been running for 8 years now. Though I am biased towards Nike as a brand, I would recommend you to go to a running-specific store, like Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC. They can help you find the right shoe because people buy shoes that aren't necessarily right for their feet, but more comfortable or fashionable. But after you get the correct shoes or even if you haven't, I would go to any major athletics store and ask the sales associates because they are getting paid to know the products they are selling. Good luck!!!

Reply:please dont be silly, i could bore you to tears with the amount of injuries i have had by wearing the wrong shoes. you must get your feet measured up at a running store.

You will regret it if you dont, think how much time off running you would have if you got an injury

Are chuck taylors considered tennis shoes?

can I use them while playing on my schools court?

Are chuck taylors considered tennis shoes?
People still wear those?

Where do you live? Those went out forever ago here, lol.

Well, when I was in school, people wore them all the time on the gym court. They aren't the best shoes to wear during gym activities, because they have absolutely no support. Your feet may become cramped, or will feel like ants are biting them.

Just be sure they aren't tied too tight, loosen them up a bit.
Reply:Out of personal experience I found out that there are tennis shoes and court shoes. Tennis shoes are basically the general name of any shoe for any purpose. Court Shoes are very often the name of a shoe to play tennis in.

But Chuck Taylors are not for playing tennis. My friend use to wear them when she was taking beginner classes and even without running alot or not doing alot of any other physical work, she'd complain that her feet would hurt.

If you want a shoe to play tennis you often have to ask for a court shoe, that would often be better.
Reply:Do they have black soles? If the bottoms aren't white, or light pink, you can't wear them on a tennis court. Some jerks still do and they mess up the court. Some clubs won't allow it, and are strict about it. Its really sloppy and boorish if they're black soles.

Now, the other thing, is if they are tennis shoes, then you want good support for side to side movement, and also lots of toe room so when you jam forward, you don't injure your toes. Otherwise you might wear out your sneakers really fast. Wilson makes excellent shoes, and I'd recommend them for tennis if you have to chose new ones.
Reply:No, they are basketball shoes, with no support. Back when I played basketball in high school and part of college, that's what we wore. It was the only tennis shoe out, and a pair cost around $13.
Reply:they're pretty much the worst shoes for sport

u cant really use them for any sport

only if you consider skating a sport then thats the exception
Reply:No. I actually got fussed at for wearing them to practice once. :]

They don't provide any support to your ankles. When you're jolting back and forth to get the balls, you need a lot of support so that you don't roll/sprain your ankles.
Reply:i wouldn't say they are appropriate. today's tennis you need support in the shoes....whether the ankles(to keep from rolling over chasing down a ball),the arch, the forefoot or the ball....it would be too detremental to your feet to play in shoes like those. invest in a good pair of tennis specific sneaks. you don't have to wear the expensive sort that the top pros wear they have affordable, decent shoes available.

Would a pair of tennis shoes be ok for a 2 day backpack camping trip in the mountains?

Probably. As long as you're talking about a decent pair of running, cross training or hiking shoes made of nylon with maybe a little suede, and some type of tread on the bottom, not skate shoes or casual shoes?

The thing to consider is how much weight you'll be carrying. Hiking in light shoes is only recommended when you're carrying less than 30 or 40 lbs of gear. For a woman I would go with shoes if you're carrying under 30, but I don't even let my wife carry more than 20 lbs, including food and water.

Twisting your ankle is caused by carrying too much gear and plodding along and simply not watching where you step. I've been wearing sandals and running shoes hiking since 1996 when I gave up on hiking boots, and lightening my gear every year as well, and I've never twisted anything.

In addition to a much lighter load on your feet and extra energy from that, you probably won't have to worry about blisters while hiking in shoes. Moleskin, what's that? I don't get blisters anymore, even after 21 mile day hikes.

You'll also need socks and I recommend simple 1 oz. "dress" socks made of 100% polyester or nylon which you can get at Wal-Mart or other department store. I carry two pairs and switch half way through the day, washing one pair and letting it dry hanging from my backpack.

You won't need a second pair of shoes if your first pair is light enough to dry overnight. And even if it does get damp, which mine always do, since I tend to just walk through streams without taking off socks or shoes, they will dry on the trail, especially with thin socks.

Would a pair of tennis shoes be ok for a 2 day backpack camping trip in the mountains?
You should really wear boots, if you roll an ankle you may find yourself unable to walk out. At least a boot will protect from totally ******* it up, and it can be tightened down to help suppot an injured ankle. Also, they're warmer.
Reply:yes
Reply:If the trail was paved. You need ankle support and arch support. You also may need warmth. Athletic shoes are also slippery on rocks, gravel and grass.

Get a decent pair of hiking boots.
Reply:i wouldn't take "tennis" shoes but a if you don't want to go and buy big heavy boots you could go and get some good trail running shoes. they will have a better grip on the bottom the your tennis shoes. you'll need that esp. in the mountains where the terrain can get steep. also with trail runner shoes your less likely to get the blisters unbroken in boots will give you.
Reply:It depends on what you mean by "camping". If you drive to a campsite and set the tent up 3 feet from the trunk of the car, and spend the next two days throwing rocks in the water, drinking beer and hanging out, then yeah.

If you mean putting 2 days worth of food, water and equipment on your back and walking up and down hills that are this %26gt;%26lt; far from being cliffs, absolutely NOT.

As other posters have indicated hiking boots give stability to the ankle and provide at least some degree of waterproofness.

Also make sure the boots fit right. Go boot shopping at the end of the day, and walk around for a while first. This will ensure that your feet are about as swollen as they will get and make sure you don't get a boot that is too small. You can tighten up a loose boot a lot easier than loosening a tight one.

Pack your tennys for after you're done hiking for the day to let both your boots and your feet air out a bit.

Have fun.
Reply:get some hiking boots, they're the best for camping!
Reply:A lot of long distance hikers use running shoes or the like to save on weight. Heavy boots, while providing more support, will fatigue your legs more. I like mid range boots for most things. I believe it's a tradeoff. If you are a smart packer and have less than a 25 pound pack, and you aren't doing any hardcore scrambling, running shoes or approach shoes should be okay. Being aware of your footing, using decent trails, and being in shape matter, too.
Reply:Camping yes...hiking maybe(trail?).......climbing NO
Reply:it all depends if you are going to play tennis !! personally i've never played tennis in hiking boots either, nothing like twisting or breaking an ankle two days walk out in the bush , i suppose you could slide home on the tennis racket
Reply:depends on the climate...but great for hiking....just dont roll your ankle....and i would take a 2nd pair of shoes so if they get wet, in rain or water. You can change them out.
Reply:There are a lot of possible answers to this question, mostly because there are so many variables! Are you used to hiking in tennis-shoes? Do you have a good pair of hiking boots but don't want to bring them in case you don't need them? What kind of hiking are you going to be doing?

I bring sneakers, boots and flip flops when I go camping- each has their uses and you have the option of swtiching from one pair to another.

Some have suggested at going out and buying a good pair of hiking boots if you don't already have them- good idea- but I cringe at the thought of hiking in a new pair of boots- which almost always means painful blisters! If you can, wait until you've broken them in to fit you foot before you go on any long hikes. If you can't do that, bring lots of large, good quality band-aids. I've had some luck with putting the bandaids over the sections of my feet that usually end up blistered when I wear new boots and that helps to prevent them from forming - it saves a lot of grief later on! Good luck!
Reply:Probably not. I would suggest a pair of light to medium hiking boots. Wear them around for a few day before your trip to break them in. Make sure you wear good hiking socks. If your feet get wet change your socks. Don't use cotton socks as they will cause blisters. Make sure your boots fit properly and your feet don't slide around. Keep them laced tight. When you rest, take off your boots anf check your feet.
Reply:Maybe. Depends on how good the trails are and how much hiking and climbing you plan on doing. It might be better to invest in some hiking boots though.
Reply:Actual Tennis Shoes...no. Running shoes or Basketball shoes...yes. The basketball shoes give good support but have lousy traction. If it's muddy, expect to slip. The running shoes would be better. Many Appalachian Trail Thru-Hikers wear trail running shoes.

Lightweight boots would be the best, but if it's your first time backpacking, don't blow the bucks on the boots until you know you want to do it again.
Reply:no

Can you put sneakers/tennis shoes in the washing machine?

The sneakers I'm willing to have machine-washed are NB, made of plastic and cloth.

Can you put sneakers/tennis shoes in the washing machine?
YES U CAN...I wouldn't recommend putting them in the dryer though,it is best to set them out %26amp; let them dry...

I have added instructions if u want them!

How to Wash Shoes

This will explain some simple steps for washing your tennis shoes in a washing machine.

Steps - Unlace your shoes.

Clean off any excess mud or dirt that can be brushed off easily.

Place your shoes and shoe laces in the washer, along with some towels or blankets.

Add your favorite flavor of detergent.

Set water temperature to cold and start (shoes shouldn't shrink, but this will help to keep the colors from fading)

Take the shoes out once they are finished and place in sun to dry. Make sure that they

Relace and wear those "like new" shoes!

Tips - Washing your shoes with towels or blankets will prevent the dryer from getting off balance.

Drying your shoes in the sun may take a few days, depending on how thick they are.

If you do not feel comfortable washing your shoes in the washer, you can also scrub them in the sink with soap and a brush.
Reply:Not to be flip but if the washer door is big enough, you can put them in there. You can even wash them if you want and they'll be fine.
Reply:Many can be. Put them in an old pillow case and tie it closed. Run them through the wash and then let them air dry (no dryer).

Some cheaply made shoes will come unglued after washing, but the better brands should withstand it okay. I've washed my Nikes before.
Reply:u can but it depends
Reply:yes but put them inside a pillowcase together first
Reply:I've washed sneakers, yeah!
Reply:Yes. I wash mine every once in awhile. I do not dry them though. I put them out and pull the toungue out as far as I can and let them air dry. Drying the shoes will loosen seams and the shoe will tear up quicker.
Reply:Yes you can, but take the laces out of them as they will some times get wrapped under the middle of the washer and it will be a mess.

Pretty much most can be done this way. You can also dry them in the dryer. I prefer to use the kind of dryer where they sit flat on a plat form and do not flop around inside of the dryer. This machine has a flat plat form where the shoes stay there as they dry, you can not put any thing else in the dryer with them while they are drying. I have one of these machines and they are great.
Reply:Yeah but I wouldn't put them in the dryer... try stuffing them when they come out with newspaper and letting them air dry

Are the Keds (canvas tennis shoes) especially White,a good choice for boys too,or not ?

they definetly are a good choice for guys too... go for it..

:)

Are the Keds (canvas tennis shoes) especially White,a good choice for boys too,or not ?
YES, in fact not just boys but slightly older boys (early 40's for me) I've worn Keds for the last 25 years, they're great. Please realize that they only make them in women's size right now so if you are planning to order them on-line be careful which size you choose. I always try mine on in the store, it's less hassle. And don't worry about what other people think of them, if you like them wear them.

http://flickr.com/photos/39715038@N00/91...
Reply:Keds are ok for boys or guys in 20s. They're casual shoes suitable for most occasions. I don't have one but I have personally seen them upclose and these Keds are good stuff. And IMO, for just $5 extra you should get the suede Keds coz they last longer.
Reply:I wouldn't put those on a boy. First of all white gets so dirty, and second they are feminine looking. They also will not last the rough play a boy does. I have never seen a pair on a boy.

Definitely not someone in the 20's.
Reply:theyre great classic and original for all kids of all ages.
Reply:ya (if the boy is younger)--that shoe suits a lot of little kids. Boys these days, though, tend to like "skater shoes": Vans, etnies. It depends how old the boy is. My brother is five and he also wears a lot of those slip on vans like these: http://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/sneakers/all/i... it just depends on how old they are. But yes for younger children Keds are good.
Reply:NOOOOO! If you want white, go with a pair of Kswiss. I think keds are too feminine.

What's with the tennis shoes hanging from the Powerlines?

They are all over here in Sacramento. Do you have that "fad" where you live?

What's with the tennis shoes hanging from the Powerlines?
In my old neighborhood in L.A. that was done to let people know there were drugs sold near by. But it was a fad also picked up by teenagers- they did that just to see if they could actually get the shoes up there.
Reply:It's normally a sign for a drug house or gang turf.
Reply:In my area it's always meant there's a drug dealer at the location ready to do business.

Reply:A "FAD" fades.......it's not a fad. Mine's are there too. It's a way of preserving memories. . . I can tell you didn't have much to remember...
Reply:That is a rite of passage for guys who got through boot camp. And yes, I do believe it is a nationwide thing. I see it here in Florida all the time. My ex was in the Marine Corps, and that is what he told me. But he also lied a lot, so I guess he could have been lying. He also told the girl at the drive-thru in a pizzeria that he was Tom Petty's son, and he really had her going. He even told her the car he was driving was a gift from his "dad." You know, these other people are probably right. It probably is drug related!!!!

What is a good pair of tennis shoes to play tennis in that are fairly cheap?

When I say fairly cheap, I mean $80-under.

What is a good pair of tennis shoes to play tennis in that are fairly cheap?
Its a matter of choice really when it comes to what you want to wear. There are a bunch of tennis shoes online that are within your budget. If you go to tenniswarehouse.com, you'll see what I mean. They tell you the available sizes as well. The problem is, they can be too heavy, too narrow and fairly uncomfortable. I'ved used K-Swiss, Wilson but I've settled with the Yonex shoes. They are wonderful, comfortable, breathable with excellent cushioning. Toe box on the Yonex is a bit bigger than normal which is very easy on the feet. The heel is cradled by an excellent heel support for greater stability. Check your nearest sport shop and try some shoes on. Thats the best way to determine the shoes thats best for you.
Reply:Possibly the Barricade II's, those are probably under $80 now that the Barricade V's are out, but don't get me wrong, the Barricade II is a great shoe with great durability.
Reply:You should check www.zappos.com

It has a good selection under $80 and free overnight shipping and returns.

What are the best walking shoes other than tennis shoes?

I really like Teva-type sandals. I have a pair made by a company called "Merrell," I think, that are amazing. If it's warm %26amp; you're hiking, these are cool %26amp; offer good traction %26amp; support. (It's not like the old days when people used to wear heavy hiking boots that don't give.)

Rockport also makes good, standard walking shoes. Sketchers has a huge selection of really comfortable shoes, too.

medical ones casted by an orthepidic surgon will help immensly( i have a pair), but the ones you buy at the store wont do much. unless you have that flat footed thing, just go get a different pair.( if you do have that foot thing, get the inserts, they help alot, and you can put them in different shoes)

I bought white tennis shoes a couple of weeks ago and i need help cleaning them!?

they are pumas by the way. what happened? i was walking with my brand new white pumas on a rainy day, thats what. so, is there any product i can use to make them white again? i already tried using the washing machine and didnt work. any advice? thanx 4 ur help!

I bought white tennis shoes a couple of weeks ago and i need help cleaning them!?
wash them in fresh goats milk
Reply:scrub with toothpaste
Reply:Things You’ll Need:

Cool water

Old toothbrush or soft scrubbing brush

Mild soap

Paper towels

White tube sock

Washing machine

Step 1:

Let wet and muddy shoes dry before cleaning them. Take shoes outside and beat them together or against a hard surface to remove caked on mud and dirt.

Step 2:

Take the shoe laces out of the shoes. Put the laces inside a long tube sock and tie a knot in the top of the sock. Wash and dry the laces with like colors.

Step 3:

Wet the shoes with cool water. Apply a mild soap to a soft scrubbing brush. Scrub both the inside and outside of the shoes with the brush. Apply more soap as needed.

Step 4:

Wash the soap off of the shoes with clean cool water. Scrub stubborn stains with additional soap. Rinse all soap out of the shoes.

Step 5:

Dump excess water out of the shoes. Blot the shoes dry with a clean white towel. Crinkle heavy duty paper towels into balls. Stuff the paper towels into the shoes to absorb water.

Step 6:

Set the shoes on a surface where they can dry at room temperature. Remove the wet paper towels from the shoes after an hour. Replace them with dry paper towels. Change out the paper towels frequently until all of the excess moisture is absorbed.

Step 7:

Replace the laces in the tennis shoes. Purchase new laces when the old laces do not come as clean as the shoes.
Reply:The washing machine is a bit rough on leather if they're made of that... I wouldn't do that too often.

Try Soft Scrub very gently and rinse good, then put a clear protective shoe polish on when they're dry. Those magic scrub sponges also work miracles.

And if all else fails, get some white shoe polish!
Reply:try the magic eraser things...you know, mr. clean makes them...
Reply:Are the shoes canvas or all white cloth? if so wet shoes cover stained area with iodized salt set in sun until shoe and salt are dry knock off dry salt, shoes should be good as new.

Heel pain, which tennis shoes is the best?

You may need Orthotics. Have your feet checked by a Podiatrist. As for shoes, I have found New Balance the best fit.

Can men wear tennis shoes to a wedding?

If and ONLY if the wedding is on a tennis court.

Can men wear tennis shoes to a wedding?
You can wear whatever you want, but generally you wear what is appropriate for the dress code. For a formal wedding, that would be a no, but for a really casual (maybe beach or something like that) tennies would be ok as long as they are very clean and new looking. But, if you are the groom I would just say no, even for casual.
Reply:they can, but it wouldnt be appropriate...it is the bride and grooms day to shine..why not step it up a little bit??
Reply:no and if they wore tht to mi wedding i wouldnt let them in
Reply:If you want to look like a Backstreet boy.
Reply:Not unless the wedding cake is made of twinkies and the groom is the bride's cousin.

In other words, NO! A wedding, even so-called casual ones, call for at the very least a nice pair of trousers and dress shoes.
Reply:NOOOOOOOO. way to casual for a wedding. i would be offended if somebody wore sneakers to my wedding, specially if it was the groom.

Those are good and really cheap. Hope i could help.
Reply:What does the bride say? It's supposed to be her day, or so they say.
Reply:NO. Nobody can wear tennis shoes to a wedding.
Reply:I would say no. Weddings are supposed to be formal, and tennis shoes...aren't.
Reply:Not unless you want to look like a Schmuck!!! Just say NO to tennis shoes- this is someones big day- dont ruin it by looking like a hill billy!

Why do the call them tennis shoes if you don't actually play tennis in them?

Good point.

Why do the call them tennis shoes if you don't actually play tennis in them?
maybe because originally they were just used for tennis then over time they were used for most sports.
Reply:Who calls 'em that? I just say sneakers

Flip - Flops Or Tennis Shoes?

Flip-Flops definately..no matter what your wearing this summer

Flip - Flops Or Tennis Shoes?
tennis always...
Reply:tennis shoes
Reply:flip-flops all the way gurl
Reply:flip flops for me.i'm not the sporty type.but it has to depend on ur top and ur bottom too ya :)
Reply:Depends on what you're doing but now in summer my feet get way too hot for tennies so I say wear flip flops :).
Reply:Sneakers!

Flip flops are for dirty inbreds and I don't play tennis
Reply:tennis shoes--I hate flip-flops. They feel like they're falling off.
Reply:Tennis shoes if I have to choose. I hate flip-flops. They don't stay in place, they smack against your foot when you walk, they aren't comfortable, they have no padding for your foot, and I think they are a beach only item, not for regular wear. Go with a good pair of sandals instead for cool comfy feet in the summer.

What Brand of Tennis shoes are the best for all around walking around in for under $80??

And where is the best place to buy them. What store?

What Brand of Tennis shoes are the best for all around walking around in for under $80??
New Balance. They are also the only one that I found in extra wide. Best shoes I ever bought.
Reply:I hate to be a smart a$$ here, but seriously...

Tennis Shoes are for Tennis and not walking around.

Walking shoes or a groovy hiker shoe would probably be best. Got some decent Sketcher sneakers the other day that I'm liking a whole lot. But the New Balance still got em on comfort.

Cheers
Reply:Reeboks
Reply:New Balance or Asics make the most comfortable and most durable shoes for the money.

Kohl's and Mervyn's seem to have the best prices on such shoes.
Reply:The only kind I can wear for walking is New Balance, they make different shapes, which is good because my foot is wider at the toes and they don't pinch.

You can get them at Famous footwear for around $50-$60.
Reply:if you want to walk in style, buy some nike air force 1's. you can get the all while sneakers for about $50.00.

What are good tennis shoes?

Good tennis shoes are shoes that provide good cushioning, lateral support (for side-to-side stability), ventilation, and a good fit to your feet! I have worn many brands of shoe over the past 30 years (Nike, Addidas, Converse, Reebok, Prince, K-Swiss, Pony), but I have found that Reeboks fit my feet the best and that I don't have foot problems when I stick with them. Their DMX system rocks! This is not an ad for Reebok. I think just about any brand of shoe can be good depending on how it works with your own feet!

I recommend that you read shoe reviews in publications like Tennis, but also give the shoes a test drive yourself. It may take a while to determine, but you may find that you keep coming back to a particular brand or type of shoe that works best for you and keeps you from having foot problems. That's the shoe for you!

What are good tennis shoes?
I'm a sucker for Nike. Courier's shoes when he was winning the Australian Open and Sampras' Air Max are really great!

The most important aspect is lateral movement, which is guaranteed for tennis shoes. Don't play with running shoes, you'd get injured easily.
